Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford – From the Ice to the Stage 

Soulmates on Ice Meagan Duhamel Eric Radford Latitude 46Latitude 46 Publishing is thrilled to host Olympians Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford in their first public appearance together to celebrate the launch of their book Soulmates on Ice: From Hometown Glory to the Top of the Podium.

Local sports journalist Laura E. Young has chronicled the unlikely path Duhamel and Radford followed on the way to the top of the world in figure skating.  

Young will chat with the Northern Ontario elite athletes on stage Friday, January 4, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at the Sudbury Theatre Centre. Admission is free. Fans will get a behind-the-scenes look into Duhamel and Radford’s professional and personal lives.

Recently listed by CBC as one of the top 15 books for the sports fans on your gift giving list, Soulmates on Ice examines how the two-time world pair champions and three-time Olympic medalists developed a working relationship and honed their resilience in a sport that often left them bloodied and bruised. Ultimately, the two-time world champions earned the perfect, storybook ending to the sport they have adored since they laced up their first pairs of skates.

About the Authors

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Laura E. Young is a journalist and long-time sportswriter based in Sudbury, Ont., Canada. She is the author of the award-winning Solo Yet Never Alone Swimming the Great Lakes, a certified lifeguard, and master’s swimmer who skates for fitness.

Northern Ontario skaters Meagan Duhamel of Lively, and Eric Radford of Balmertown, became the first pair in the world to land a throw quadruple Salchow at the Olympics. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, they led Canada to the team event gold and won the bronze in the individual pairs. They also won silver in the team event at the 2014 Olympics. The two-time world champions are also seven-time Canadian champions. Off ice, Duhamel is a certified holistic nutritionist and Radford is composer with his Grade 9 from the Royal Conservatory of Music. They live in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.
