Sarah Woods will be speaking at the Sudbury Horticultural Society’s meeting this weekend.

The Sudbury Horticultural Society will hold its next meeting at the CNIB on York Street on Sunday, February 25th. Everyone is welcome!

The afternoon will feature a presentation by Sarah Woods of Conservation Sudbury on ‘Stewardship of our Waterways’, with a focus on how gardeners can impact the quality of our watershed.

Sarah Woods currently acts as Source Protection and Stewardship Coordinator with Conservation Sudbury. There she helps coordinate programs associated with Drinking Water Source Protection and manages their tree planting program. She holds a BSc in Biology from Laurentian University and an MSc in Natural Resources Sciences from McGill University. She is particularly interested in improving stewardship of the natural environment through education and community involvement.

Sarah is Vice-Chair of VETAC, Sudbury’s Regreening Committee, is a member of the Watershed Advisory Panel, and is the former Coordinator and Research Manager of the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee.

The Regent Street doors of the CNIB will be open at 1:15 p.m. for refreshments and socializing. The meeting begins at 2 p.m..

Annual memberships, which cost $15 and 2018 yearbooks will be available.

Admission is $2 for non-members.
