Rods N’ Rails Classic Car Show Returns to Capreol This Weekend

This 1964 Ford Mustang will be raffled off with all proceeds going to the Town of Capreol’s Centennial Celebration in 2018.

The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and the Sudbury Street Rod Association are pleased to announce the return of their annual Rods N’ Rails Classic Car Show on Father’s Day, June 18th, 2017. The show, which takes over the majority of Capreol’s downtown core, attracts more than 200 classic cars, customs and hot rods.

Northern Ontario Railroad Museum & Heritage CentreRegistration begins at 8:30am with custom dash plaques for the first 100 cars registered. There is a special Father’s Day Breakfast at the Capreol Legion between 9am and 1pm. The show opens to the public at 10am. There will be free admission to the museum and a number of special exhibits on site including Cambrian College’s Lil Big Rig, Rewind 103.9’s Totally Awesome Summer Cruiser, Greater Sudbury Utilities Bucket Truck and the opportunity to taste Bannock and learn about traditional bead making techniques from the Metis Nation of Ontario’s Cultural Summer Program. There will be a BBQ and Beer Tent on site and live music throughout the afternoon courtesy Smokey and Friends. There will also be gasket cover races throughout the day.

This year’s show also features the opportunity to win a 1964 Ford Mustang that will be raffled off this coming August with proceeds going towards the town of Capreol’s Centennial Celebration in 2018. Tickets are $10.00 each or 3/$25.00.

Ford introduced the first Mustang in 1964 so here’s your chance to own a piece of history. We thought you might like to watch how Ford introduced it to the world at the New York World’s Fair.

9:00 -1:00pm: Father’s Day Breakfast at the Capreol Legion Branch 179 10:00am-2:00pm Rods N’ Rails Car Show Opens to the Public
10:00am-4:00pm: Free Admission to museum
10:00am-2:30pm: Access to Vendors and Special Exhibits
11:00am-4:00pm: BBQ and Beer Tent Opens
12:00-3:00pm: Live Music Courtesy Smokey and Friends (Museum Street Front)
2:00pm-2:30pm: Prizes and Awards for Best in Show / Door Prizes
