Spread a Little Sunshine
Sun shining on sunflowers

Be someone else’s sunshine. Be the reason someone smiles today.

Everyone needs a little reminder now and then about how to make life a little brighter for themselves and everyone around them.

The following are a list of helpful hints on how to make life a little brighter for all. Keep them in a handy location where you can look at them occasionally or better yet… share them to your friends… because everyone could use a little bit of life advice every now and then.

  • Sing in the shower. Sing loud and sing proud! And it doesn’t matter how good you are either.
  • Get up really early and watch a sunrise at a beach at least once a year.
  • Never refuse homemade cooking that was made with caring hands and a loving heart.
  • Strive for excellence and your personal best…not perfection which is often elusive.
  • Plant a tree on your birthday and watch it grow every year as you do.
  • Think big thoughts but relish the small, simple pleasures in life.
  • Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know and avoid negative people.
  • Try to be forgiving of yourself and others at least once a day. Understanding and forgiveness will become easier over time.
  • Overtip your breakfast waitresses at restaurants because most other people are too grumpy to tip in the morning.
  • Be the first person to say “Hello” when you meet someone new.
  • Buy at least one of whatever young kids are selling on little folding  tables in their front yards.
  • Carry jumper cables in your trunk. You never know who may need a little jumpstart in your daily travels.
  • Have a firm yet friendly handshake and always look other people directly in the eye.
  • Keep secrets to yourself as you will find that you need to trust yourself first and foremost.
  • Stop blaming others and accept the responsibility of taking complete charge of your own life!
  • Wave at kids on school buses when they are ahead of you at the stoplight.
  • Pop a quarter into a stranger’s expired parking meter.
