Kivi Park has partnered with Canaqua Sports to bring the SwimRun Challenge to Sudbury on Sunday, July 29, 2018. After last year’s success, this year’s race has become a qualifying event for the Aquaticrunner IWC World Individual SwimRun Championships being held on September 16, 2018 in Grado, Italy.

The top two men and top two women from the Sudbury SwimRun Challenge will become qualifiers for the world event and will join 250 other SwimRun athletes from around the world.

The course is 19 kilometers in length and consists of four runs and three swims throughout Kivi Park and the newly opened Crowley Lake. There is one basic rule; whatever you start with, you must finish with. If you choose to wear shoes or wetsuit, they must be on you at all times. Participants are allowed to use aids such as paddles and pull buoys but again, must travel with them at all times throughout the race.

“We’re really excited that Canaqua Sports has brought this event back to Kivi Park, ” says Melissa Sheridan, Kivi Park Leader. “Our hope is to grow this event each year and attract participants from all over the world. Becoming a qualifying race for the world event is an amazing start!”

Individuals or teams can register online through or on site beginning at 7:30AM. Kivi Park and Canaqua Sports looks forward to welcoming all tri-athletes and those who enjoy swimming and running to take part in this event.
